She had a creative time. Take a look.
Here is some of my little baby sisters creations. She made couple of cards for her friends. They are really good, I would not think of design like that but it nicely works on her cards. there are pictures with bad lighting but all in all they look nice. She is so talented and very cheerful. I miss her so much.

It's been quite a busy week so I am more than ready for the weekend!

While at my craft desk, I'm still playing happily with the ribbons. I just constantly find new ways to use them. Essentially,
new combination of stamps from different stamp sets. This is one of
my favorite things when I find more ways to use my stamps and supplies.
Who doesn't like to get more bang of the buck?

My card today focuses on the red satin ribbon and SU stamp set:

1. form 41/4 x 51/2 card from red cardstock.
2. cut a 4 x 51/4 piece from white cardstock.
3. Cut 4 1" circles from patterned papers. layer onto white cardstock. If you wish you can use a little adhesive to hold circles in place. randomly machine-stitch circles in place (or you can do it by hand like me). Center and adhere cardstock panel to a card front.
4. wrap twine around top of the card front, tying ends into a bow. attach sentiment sticker to a card along bottom edge. (or you can first stamp sentiment before you attach circles)Elżbieta * Ela *http://www.blogger.com/profile/12909055488296564358noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1520404832836126711.post-50811334922295337132014-08-19T23:01:00.000+01:002014-08-23T23:03:38.151+01:00Recycling cards #1Hello,
This card is is so easy to to make and looks so cute and really good. I used a plain bunch of flowers, it was just white BG. than I cut out as a circle, make it as the sentiments is on the side. I punch couple of red circles and attach them to the back of my circle. Mounted with foam pads to add dimensions. the size I think is 6"x6" - I usually use this one.
I come back with a new card for you. This has been made for my card classes but .. I just forgot about it. So here is what I have done: I cut out 2 butterflies and emboss it, I did the same in a scrip paper. I distress butterflies with white ink and add some yellow gems. I made a bow with a brad, attach everything to a script paper. BG paper was mounted to a base white card and then I finish the card with red butterflies.
Here is my second card from the kit. I really like this card as it has my favorite colours and is so stylish. hope you like it too. I used half of the 2 DP to make this card, sentiment and gems with some ribbon.

Measure 2" from 2 opposite corners (use reverse side of the card if you do not want to see the pencil line). Draw a line between them and cut the paper. I trim some of the DP so it is a slightly smaller than my base red card. than I mounted pieces together on a random scrap square. Tie a ribbon to cover the split , add sentiment and gems. I cut a flower shape from red card, cut petals and cover it with a little whit ink.

there you have it. All finished project with a few extra faux black stitches.
Today I have a brand new PAPER KIT to show you. This is totally mine KIT. I like to making cards but it is sometimes very hard to get papers to coordinate and make everything looks really nice. Stampin' Up is the best place to start with. However, I feel a little bit more adventurous and I wanted to try coordinate SU products and other brands to make cards. It is not just stamps but DSP and cardstock.
Some time ago I started practice with different products and papers. It took me a long time to get it right but all the effort was worth it. I came up with a lovely Paper kit which I like and all my ladies are happy with it too. Here how it looks like.

I manage to make 12 cards with this kit, and I still have some leftovers. Depending how much of DP you are using you can make from 6 - 20 cards from it. This KIT is called "Happy Birthday" and is 6"x6".
What you get:
8 Designs Papers
4 plain basic cards: 2 red and 2 white
4 plain cardstock : 2red and 2 white
Here is my card with a lovely Sentiment from LOTV (Lilly of the valley) stamp set. I like this sentiments. Not just because they are so original, funny and great quality but also because they are in a different shape and sizes of the font. They are good size to cover a nice piece of card and still have a space to add embellishments. I really like their sentiment stamps.

This card contains mostly white cards stock. I mount everything onto 5"x5" base card. Than I cut small square and cut out a circle. I use Ranger ink pad to cover square in light pink and red barn door to stamp GIRL and DUMMY. I stamp separately all the embellishments, color them in with copics and cut out in front of some movie :o)

Below you can find close up of my coloring. I added some glitter to finish my card. I made the same on for a boy, and I think I prefer my blue one much better. Maybe because I have two boys and I am not in girls stuff so much recently.
After all my search I finally found a nice ribbon storage that can work for me. I look for it for a very long time. I tried THIS and Than and experiment with some shoe boxes, with plastic containers, with space racks and all sort of things, but nothing works for me. I finally found this on Pintrest and decided to have a go.
It is not a thing you can actually buy in The shop but I love DIY and I will go and do it myself. My target is ASAP, but having small kids it is not an easy job to go and organize my time and have some extra. I will see if grandparents can be in use at than time...

HERE you can find all the instructions on: How to do it?? dimensions and full pictures. I will post mine when I actually finish this project and I will be able to use it in my craft room. Until then, all my ribbons are in plastic containers and boxes, where they remain until my shelf will be finished.

Thanks for looking, check the blog for more inspirations.
I'm popping in with a quick card from the card classes I hold some time ago. I cut a piece of white paper and cover it with flowery washi tape. Than I centered 2 of my butterflies nestabilities from Xcut, one bigger and one smaller and run through my big shot. I end up having a small filled butterfly and a frame of butterfly. Fix big square to a main card with foam pads and add small butterfly in the center to get the look.
****** keep the frame of the butterfly, I'll show you how to use it later.****

I finished it off with the yellow gems in the middle. I recently love gems on all of my cards, so I need to top up my stock or start to use more ribbons which I love as well.
I have been so busy that I
made cards but forgot to post them here. Oh well we all know how it is
when life is so quick and days turns into weeks and weeks into months
.... Now I am back with few new cards which I made some time ago.
Here is
the first one. I made this card to see how the powders works. And it
turned to be really nice card. I made this flower from some decorative
paper ribbon. it took me some time to make it right and put it together
but when I finally did it I was very pleased. The same ribbon I used to
make the center of the flowers. Background was made with a VersaMArk and
red powder. I used a stamp with writing with Versamark ink pad and just
gently rub powder onto card. I cover half of the base card with a tear
paper to have a different look on the edge.
I took a strip of a red paper
and heat emboss it with a gold powder and the same stamp.

I mount is all together and this finishes the card.
Hope you enjoy it. Thanks.
So here it is.
This is absolutely wonderful weather. we finally have
some summer. We (me and my little Mr) went out with my friend to the
park have some picnic. I was worried that it is going to rain - like
lately but NO it did not happened. WOW !!!!! How cool is that !!!! I had
to admit the sun got onto my back , and because my skin is fair, I have
some red patches on my back. I feel like a quilt right now. hi hi hi
...
Anyway, shall we see what I prepared today .

this is nice card , like always lately made of scraps of ribbon and paper. I saw this lovely sketch from Saturday Sketches and I decide to have a go.

This
is small yellowish rectangle card. at the top I emboss white card with
polka dots embossing folder and add black stitches as a border. I cut
some leftovers of ribbon into different lengths, and added at the bottom
of white card. The felt flower was from some craft mag (never remember
which one - as I put all extras together from every mag. I have). to
finish the card just stamp sentiment at the bottom.

Hope you enjoy.Elżbieta * Ela *http://www.blogger.com/profile/12909055488296564358noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1520404832836126711.post-41289444854321915422014-04-15T23:30:00.000+01:002014-04-19T23:36:39.720+01:00Clean & Simple cards - tutorial - continuing ............................Here is a continuation of my tutorial CAS ........................................

If you would like to see the begining CLICK HERE

REPETITION of design elements creates interest through the use of a repeated component. the most attention - grabbing repetition occurs when there is variations in the chosen element. this could be using a shape such as a circle for multiple components but varying the size and/or color throughout the design. it could mean using the same stamp image but stamping it in a variaty of colours. the same greeting in different fonts would also be good example of using varied repetition. the important factor when using repetition to create an appealing design is to use the chosen feature in a variety of ways.

COLOUR is an important factor when adding detail to a card design. like the focal image, the colors chosen are very important in conveying the desired message.color can be added through papers, embellishments, inks, paints, markers and more. a color wheel can be a valuable tool when choosing colors. colors can many times even be chosen based on the patterned paper being used.

PATTERNS can add interest interest to the design. pattern can be incorporated into design through the use of things such as printed papers, stamps, embellishments and embossing. embossed patterns are a great way to add both interest and texture. Patterns can also be an effective way to incorporate the use of lines.

TEXTURE encompasses both the look and feel of the card. texture adds depth and appeal to a design. in addition, it can also be a good way to pull in the use of repetition and patterns. Even so-called non-texture designs contain a texture. they are smooth, which in reality is a texture. texture can be represented through cardstock texture, fibers, 3-D elements, embossing and more. Texture is very effective in creating the feel of a card. for example, a smooth or linen texture can be elegant and refined. when striving for a more outdoorsy or masculine feel, a natural element such as jute or twine might be used.

for more examples of how these designs elements are put to use, be sure and watch for tips throughout the blog.
Hello,

This card was made long time ago when I started to learn how to stamp, and my hubby gave me some extra new things to play with it - glossy accent. I really like this cool tehnikue to decorate card, but why it has to dry soooooooo....... long.

Here is the card. I used some stash of blue paper and blue ink whit a snowflake stamp. then I layered white, green and blue and than again green and white with a stamped image. image was colored in with blue and green markers. Add some green ribbon and rain drops decorations. there you have it. I nice Dove Christmas card.
